We are Winner of 2023 APEA Best New Forecourt Award!!

C+A Design are delighted to announce that we are the winners of 2023 ‘APEA Best New Forecourt Award’ for Machynlleth Service Station, as part of a joint entry with Ascona Group and Toureen Group. We were awarded the accolade at this year’s APEA Award Ceremony on 16th November, fighting off competition for the award from 5 other entrances.
The service station posed many challenges including limited space, flood risk, Japanese Knotweed, asbestos, remediation of historic ground contamination required, high groundwater, piled foundations, overhead power cables, a culvert diversion, and close proximity to a rail line. We were able to overcome all these issues to deliver a a new building and forecourt well equipped to serve the local community with a 4,800sqft shop, Starbucks counter, hot food offer and indoor seating, six fuel pumps, AdBlue and kerosene pumps, a jetwash, modern carwash and valet units.
This is not the first time C+A Design has won the ‘APEA Best New Forecourt Award’, previously winning it in 2021 for Green Garage in Pembrokeshire. This site has since also won awards at the Forecourt Trader Awards in 2022 and 2023 for the Best Forecourt for Wales and West of England up to 4mla.
