C+A Design get moving for Mental Health Awareness Week

The C+A Design team step up to the challenge to move more for mental health

When C+A Design heard that the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week was to move more, we decided to step up to the challenge! Yesterday, the whole team swapped sitting at our office screens for a walk in the hills of Hathersage. We walked a beautiful route through Moorseats Wood and around Carr Head. Spending time moving, enjoying the beautiful scenery and each other’s company was so good for both body and mind.

We also have a week-long step challenge running this week, which has been encouraging staff to move more throughout the week, and enjoy some friendly rivalry!

Exercise is so good for mental health, as our bodies and minds are connected. The Mental Health Foundation says:

Exercise releases “feel good” hormones, that reduce feelings of stress and anger. It also helps us feel better about our bodies. It can improve our sleep too. If it involves other people, like being part of a team… that can also boost our mental health.

Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place between 13th-19th May this year. For more information about how you can get involved, see: https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/
